Stav Retreat in Sweden

(Hope that name does not offend anyone! All nations welcome!)

Well as long promised, here is an update of the Stav Retreat. It has been a long time coming but my family and I have finally brought a farm in Sweden . For those who like to look at the maps it is near a town called Tärnsjö in Västmanland Lan. Over the summer I will be there from about the 25th July until the 25th August most of that time will be spend working on the property making it a little bigger and adding a few facilities.

The property is called Sjöbergagård and is a 56 ha (that is 140 acres) farm on a lake which is attached to the river Dalälven. In the next year, my family and I will be looking to move over there full time and make this our home. When this happens, I will start running courses regularly. In the mean time, we will be offering the place for people to use for courses and other activities. Having spent the summer there, we know that the area is good for walking, fishing, bird watching, hunting, and general relaxing.

The house is a simple farmhouse that has three large bedrooms and a large sofa bed in the lounge, a bathroom with a shower. It has a large barn that has a large space that can be used for training or other indoor activities (should seat around 50 people).

The farm has a large variety of plants and trees including many local berries that we used over the summer to make pies and muffins. Animals that have been seen include Elk, Deer, Osprey, Lynx, Woodpecker, Fish Eagle, Bats, Frogs, and Perch in the lake.

The local airport is Västerås 1 hour away, you can hire cars there but the desk is only open if they are expecting someone who has a reservation. The best is to arrange it on line before going. Flights are cheap with Ryanair from Luton.

We also have another farmhouse in the north Portugal if some one is interested in hiring or purchasing. Follow this link for more information.
